1 km from the beach 3 kms east of Pacific Highway 4 kms west of Byron town centre 5 hectares of landLocated in the western most part of Byron Bay, Bayshore Village will be just minutes from Byron's town centre. Originally owned by Council, the 4.921 hectare site has always been earmarked for development as a village.
With surrounding lots created for industrial zoning (Lot 2), future residential (Lot 4) and flora and fauna protection (Lot 1), Lot 3 (the Bayshore Village site) was rezoned for the purpose of developing a mixed-use village which would concentrate especially on local arts businesses.
The site was purchased from Byron Shire Council in 1998. Since then the proposal has been designed to ensure the development is consistent with the vision of Council's original Local Environmental Plan (LEP).
Unlike many recent coastal developments, the village will be an extension to its adjoining residential and employment neighbourhoods rather than a 'gated resort'. The Village will foster community interaction and provide a mix of activity for the people who live and work there as well as for the broader community. It is specially designed to encourage creativity and innovation. By providing a social and a cultural focus for its surrounding community, Bayshore Village will help create more of a sense of place for North Beach while also developing its own identity.
